TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Order Minimums. I require a minimum order of 1 dozen! Need a few more? Not a problem! After the minimum is met, you can order a few additional at a cost per cookie.
Inquiries/Quote Requests. As a customer you are responsible for confirming or passing on a quote within 24 hours of receiving it. A 50% deposit (non-refundable, transferable dependent on availability) is due within 48 hours of confirming your order. An invoice will be sent to you via Square with the details of your order. If the deposit fee is not paid within 48 hours, the order will be cancelled. The remaining 50% of the payment is due one week before the event. If final payment is not made on time, the order will be cancelled, and the deposit will not be refunded or transferable to a different date. Orders placed less than 2 weeks before the event date will require 100% payment upfront and may be subject to a $15 rush fee.
Availability: When inquiring about available dates, it is important to keep in mind that my calendar can fill up quickly and availability is subject to change. Simply inquiring about a date does not reserve a spot on my calendar. Dates are only reserved when the deposit has been paid. Decorated sugar cookies should be ordered no later than 2 weeks prior to the event. This is to ensure that I have enough time to create the cookies to your specifications and have them ready for your event.
In a hurry? While I may not be able to accommodate all last-minute orders, I will make my best effort to do so if I have space in my calendar. However, orders placed with a turnaround time of less than 14 days will require a rush fee of $15. This is because it takes more resources and effort to accommodate last-minute orders and the rush fee is to cover the additional costs associated with these types of orders.
Invoices. Invoices must be paid within 48 hours to hold your date. After the 48 hours, your date will be released and may not be available to re-book. I currently accept payments through Venmo, PayPal, and Square. Unless you request a different form of payment, I will automatically invoice you through Square. It's important to make the payment in time to secure the date and avoid any inconvenience.
Deposit. A 50% deposit is required for all orders and must be paid upfront to secure your date. This deposit is non-refundable as it is used to cover the costs associated with preparing for your order such as purchasing ingredients, reserving the date on my calendar, and other expenses. The deposit ensures that you are committed to the order and allows me to plan and execute the order effectively. It is important to understand the terms and conditions regarding the deposit before making the payment.
Refunds. In the event that you need to cancel your order, you may transfer your payment to a future order if at least 14 days notice is given prior to your originally scheduled pick-up date. The credits for rescheduled orders must be used within 6 months of the original pick-up date. The rescheduled orders are subject to my calendar and availability. However, please note that no credit transfers will be given for cookies that have already been made or materials purchased, including holiday/special occasion cookies. Additionally, no credit transfers will be given for cancelled orders that are less than 14 days prior to the pick-up date. This is to ensure that I have enough time to plan and execute the order effectively and make any necessary adjustments.
No Ghosting. To get your order just right, you should reply to my messages within 24 hours, otherwise, I may have to make assumptions and decisions on my own. However, please note that I may not always be able to reply to questions immediately as I may be busy preparing your order. If you have any questions, please give me about 24 hours to reply as I may be covered in dough and sugar, and in that case it may take me a bit longer to respond. But I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Change Cutoff. Decisions can be tough, but I am here to help you with your order. Design changes can be made until 7 days before the order is due. However, please note that after that, all change requests will be under consideration and may incur a small fee. This is to ensure that I have enough time to make any necessary adjustments to your order and that the changes can be made efficiently and effectively. It's important to keep in mind that the closer to the order due date the more difficult it may be to make changes.
Inspiration. Thanks for sending those inspiration pictures! I love seeing what your vision is. It's important to keep in mind that while I will do my best to make your cookies as close to the pictures you've provided as possible, they may not be exact replicas. I will use the pictures as inspiration and guidelines, but sometimes my best designs come from when I have a little creative freedom to add my own personal touch to the cookies. I will do my best to make sure that the overall design and style of the cookies aligns with your vision, but please keep in mind that there may be slight variations in the final product.
Copycats. Yes, copyrighted images such as those of Star Wars and Mickey Mouse are protected and I am not able to replicate them directly. However, I can make a similar color palette or cookies inspired by these characters. Instead of replicating the characters, we can create a design that is similar in style and color, but not an exact replica. This way, you can still have cookies that are inspired by your favorite characters without running into any legal issues. Let's talk about your ideas and we can come up with a design that works best for you.
Pictures are worth a thousand words. Pictures can be a great way to show inspiration for a design, but it's important to keep in mind that colors and lighting in photos may not be the same as the final product. Additionally, cookies in photos may not be true to size and the size of the cookies will be around 3.5”-4” each. It's always best to discuss any concerns or questions about size and color with me before the final design is created so we can make sure we are on the same page and you are getting exactly what you want.
Delivery Clause. All orders are pick-up only, however delivery may be an option for an additional fee if you live within 20 miles of the pick-up location. The cost of delivery will depend on the distance, and my availability, so it's best to check with me for the current cost.
Pickup Dates. Delivery dates are set upon ordering and are based on my availability. This is to ensure that other customers can receive their orders in a timely manner. We have set pickup dates to accommodate most schedules, so it's important to put the cookie pickup in your calendar to ensure you receive your order on the agreed-upon date.
Pickup Times. It is important to note that pick up times are scheduled the week your order is due to be completed, and it is very important that you keep your scheduled pickup time. If you are more than 15 minutes late without communication, you will have to re-schedule your pick up at my earliest convenient time. In the rare event that your order is not picked up within 48 hours of the scheduled pick up time, despite several attempts to contact the purchaser without success, the cookie order will be donated to a local non-profit or charity of my choosing.
Contactless Pickup. You may always request a contactless pickup option. I will be sad not to see your smiling face, but I do understand.
Covid Care. I know that you can't control when you have come in contact with a person who has Covid, and we want to work with you. Need to reschedule your event? I can freeze your cookies for 2 weeks so you can stay home and rest.
Price Adjustments. All prices are subject to change because prices are often dictated by ingredients costs. I always strive to provide the best quality product at a fair price, and sometimes changes in ingredient costs may affect the pricing of my products. However, I will always communicate any changes to you in advance. Once your deposit is paid you final cost is locked in.
Product Photography. I often create replicas of client orders to photograph for social media and marketing. Please note that if you do not want your cookies to be featured on my social media or marketing materials, you must let me know at the time of placing your order. I will respect your privacy and keep your order a secret.
Weather Clause: If pickup is impossible due to inclement weather, your order will be heat sealed for a later pickup date. Unfortunately, no refunds can be offered due to weather issues, but I will make sure your order is kept as fresh as possible!
Personal Cancellations. If I must cancel an order due to an emergency or illness, a full refund will be issued.
It's All Yours Now. Please note that I am not responsible for any damage or changes to the cookies after they have been picked up, as proper storage and handling are the responsibility of the customer. If you have any concerns or issues with your cookies, please let me know as soon as possible so we can work together to find a solution.
Ship Shape! Please keep in mind that once your order has been shipped and tracking information has been provided, any issues with delivery or damages during transit must be handled directly with the USPS. I will do my best to package the cookies securely and provide tracking information, but I cannot be held responsible for any issues that may occur during transit. If you have any concerns about shipping, please let me know and we can discuss alternative options such as local pickup or delivery.
Achoo! Allergies? Please note that my kitchen may also handle nuts, dairy, gluten and other allergens, so there is a risk of cross-contamination for any order. If you have any specific dietary restrictions or allergies, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your needs, however I can't guarantee that my products will be completely allergen-free.
Cottage Food Laws. My items have been made in a home that follows the cottage food laws for the state of Virginia but have not been inspected by the state or health department. Our kitchen is not nut free, egg free, dairy free, or gluten free. Boring disclaimer, but I have to say it per the law.
Food Risks By purchasing and consuming my baked goods, you acknowledge and accept these risks. As a responsible baker, I will always strive to use the freshest and highest quality ingredients, and to follow all food safety guidelines. However, please be aware that consuming any food product carries a risk of allergic reaction or food-borne illness, and that I cannot be held liable for any such occurrences.
Pay means Yay. By submitting your deposit or payment for your order, you are acknowledging and agreeing to the terms and conditions outlined above, including the risks associated with consuming food, potential delays or issues with shipping and pick-up, and the possibility of changes in pricing and ingredients.
